Portrait Photographers in Front of The Camera

It’s always great to meet up with other portrait photographers and to have a chat about what is happening in the world of portraits, to try out new ideas and of course to learn new ways of doing things.

Two of my photographer buddies Mikaela from Mikaela Morgan Photography and Claire from Red Poppy Portraits came to the studio recently for a catch up. We met in Paris last year when we attended a brilliant course run by Sue Bryce who is one of the worlds best women photographers.

Ask most photographers whether they like being in front of the camera and most likely their response will be luke warm. We have exactly the same feelings that all our clients have. I need to lose a few pounds, I haven’t got anything to wear, I’m not photogenic, etc……

The one thing that we have all learned is that there is not such thing as being “unphotogenic”. We know that a great portrait photographer who knows the right lighting, posing and guidance that can create beautiful images of everyone.

That’s why we need to remind ourselves every now and then of how it feels to have our own portraits taken, so we got dressed up and put some makeup on and stepped in front of our cameras.

It was such good fun and that is how a portrait session should be. Thank you ladies for making me feel great in front of your cameras and thank you so much for my gorgeous new head shots.

Here are a few of my faves from our session.  I can’t wait till our next get together!
